Alexander “Mile Back” Popp

Head Guide

Alexander Popp is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and grew up backpacking through the magnificent forests and mountains of North Georgia. After graduating from the University of North Georgia in 2016, Popp completed one of his life-long dreams, thru-hiking all 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail, which spans from North Georgia to Maine. Since completing the Appalachian Trail in 2017, Popp has worked as a crime reporter and editor for newspapers in North Georgia. With the help of leaders at Metro Market Media, which owns the Forsyth County News, the Dawson County News and the Gainesville Times, Popp Co-Founded World’s Best Adventures in late 2021

Andrew Ettinger has worked in the great outdoors for 6 years as a wilderness therapy instructor providing both physical and emotional safety for his clients. He began his love of nature early in his life spending countless hours in the woods by his home in New York. His passion for the woods continued to grow throughout his life, choosing to major in wilderness and outdoor therapy with a minor in adventure education at Green Mountain College in Poultney Vermont.

Jason Lyle has spent most of his life outdoors, doing (and loving) nearly every outdoor sport you can think of. From hunting to fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing or hunting; Lyle has made adventure and service to others his life’s work. Before he started leading groups of hikers for World’s Best Adventures, Lyle worked in Uganda and all over the United States, teaching and guiding people to become the best version of themselves

Certifications

All World’s Best Adventures guiding staff hold a current Wilderness First Responder Certification and G2015 Class ASHI CPR/AED Certification.
