Backpacking With World’s Best Adventures – What to Expect, FAQ’s and more

By Alexander Popp

Being new to the world of backpacking can be intimidating. Especially, if you’re someone with no experienced backpacker friends to take you under their wing and show you the ropes.

But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get started totally from scratch, especially with the internet’s vast wealth of backpacking and hiking

resources to give you tips on everything from gear and clothes to routes, safety, and trail etiquette. Even then, there’s almost too much information out there to know what’s going to work for you, your area, and your skill level.

That’s where a backpacking guide, or guiding company, comes in.

I know, I know. We’re clearly biased because we ARE a guiding company. But as a company founded and run by long-distance backpackers, mountaineers, and folks who have been both guides and the guided, we’ve seen firsthand the benefits of starting out as a beginner with an experienced hand to guide you.

So Why Choose World’s Best Adventures?

A lot of guiding companies you find out in the wild sell their trips based solely on the experience you’ll have with them and the destination you’ll travel to, which is what many new (or not so new) backpackers are looking for.

But for beginners, who may be spending their first days and nights in the wilderness, we’ve found that what you’re learning hands-on, is every bit as important as where you’re going and what sights you’re seeing.

In short, at World’s Best Adventures, our aim is to give you an amazing, all-inclusive experience that you’ll actually learn from and feel more confident after.

With World’s Best Adventures, you’ll learn from the word go, as we give you hands-on instructions about everything from how to put on your backpack and filter water, to how we pick a campsite and handle dangerous weather.

What Should I Expect On A Trip With World’s Best Adventures?

Each trip with World’s Best Adventures begins well before we hit the trail, with a 1-hour Virtual Q&A Session held via Zoom, so your group and guides can get acquainted, we can share information on your trip (the route, needed gear, safety procedures) and most importantly, so you can ask us anything you might be curious about before we head out.

We start every adventure on the morning of your departure date with coffee, a light breakfast, face-to-face introductions, a full gear shakedown, and instruction on how to properly pack a backpack for the trip.

Each backpacker should expect to carry their own personal gear and food, as well as the all-inclusive backpacking gear that we provide for each trip.

Part of our mission is to provide a truly stress-free adventure for you and your group, so we provide everything needed to have a great time, including your tent, backpack, sleeping pad, headlamp, trekking poles, cookware, food, and safety equipment.

During each trip, you’ll get firsthand experience setting up camp, gathering and filtering water, preparing meals, packing your backpack, starting campfires and so much more.
